The School of Pharmacy was founded in 1942 and merged with the Faculty of Medical Studies (Medical Academy) in 1951.
In 1995, it became independent from the Medical School.
Studies at the University are in line with European Union directives.
The school is located behind the Cathedral in the city centre.
The School has 3 auditoriums, 9 seminar rooms and 42 laboratories equipped with modern equipment.
It also has modern computer facilities and access to the Internet.
There are currently 29 Professors at the School of Pharmacy.
Throughout the years, more than 1500 students have been trained at the Department, over 500 of which were from countries other than Bulgaria.
Information
The course lasts 5 years and the last year includes practical training in pharmacies or hospitals.
The total hours spent on lectures are 1515 and in labs 2910.
During their studies, students must successfully pass 39 courses. At the end of their studies they may sit state examinations, or submit a thesis.
The tuition fees are 8000 EUR per year.
Classes begin during the last week of October and documents should be sent by mid-September.
Several documents are required for registration.
Universal has a list of tests that help students prepare for the exams, and these can be sent to students upon request.
